On 9th December 2015, St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary (STOTS) organized a Satsang on the topic “The concrete & the abstract in Theology and Art.” The main speaker was the renowned theologian and former principal of Orthodox Theological Seminary Kottayam Rev Fr Dr. K. M. George. In his presentation Fr Dr. K. M. George explained about the interrelation of Theology and Art. We always move from concrete to abstract. He also talked about the main Christian topic ‘God became human for the salvation of the whole human race.’ He stressed that we should move from concrete to abstract for knowing God. In the words of St Ignatius of Antioch, “Word of God came from the silence in the bosom of Father’s Heart. ” So it is clear that in order to move from concrete to abstract, silence is a must. The Presence of Rev. Fr. Dr. Johns Abraham Konattu the visiting faculty of STOTS and the priest Trustee along with all the other faculty members of STOTS made the programme more colourful. Rev. Fr. Dr. K. M. George spent around ten days at the seminary and took classes.
