Calgary, AB: Calgary Orthodox Christian Convention organized under the auspices of St. Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church Calgary is held every year coinciding with the Church Feast (Dormition of St. Mary). This year’s convention will be held from August 30, Tuesday to September 2, Friday followed by Holy Qurbana on September 3, Saturday. Calgary Church is blessed to have HH. Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, the supreme head of the Indian Orthodox Church, and also HG. Mar Eusebios our diocesan metropolitan during our convention. We will also be having eminent speakers, priests, seminarians, from India and US and other parts of Canada.
The Catholicos of the East Baselios Marthoma Paulose II will commence his Apostolic visit to Western Canada. This is a historic moment, as this is the MAIDEN APOSTOLIC VISIT FROM THE HOLY SEE OF THOMAS TO WESTERN CANADA. St. Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church Calgary is organizing a befitting welcome to our Bava. Local politicians including MLAs will welcome HH. Bava at the airport on behalf of the province of Alberta.
