Minister for Justice Mr Simon Harris appointed Elza Alex as Peace Commissioner  for Westmeath and surrounding counties. She is an Irish Indian and has been living in Ireland with her family from Kottayam district, Kerala for over a decade and a half. She is involved with the local community and is active in various voluntary services in Ireland (Volunteer Ireland, SVP, AWARE, Team Hope, Fleadh Cheoil. Also serving as the membership officer and  treasurer of Mullingar Badminton Club and the Head Teacher of St Stephens Parish  Mullingar. She hails from Thiruvalla Thachedathu family and is married to Fr. Ninan Kuriakose (Indian Orthodox Christian Priest) Children:Kuruvilla(M.Phisio Leeds Bradford), Ann & Alexander (Students). Elza is a staff at Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.
