MUSCAT: Dr Geevarghese Yohannan, Founder and Managing Director, of Muscat-based Nadan Trading LLC, was awarded the doctorate degree for his role in education management and life time achievement.

He was bestowed the doctorate of professional skill (Honoris Causa) on May 26 at Le Royal Park, Puducherry, by N Rangaswamy, former chief minister of Puducherry, India, by Global Achievers Council and the Academy of Universal Global Peace, with affiliation to United Nation for Global Peace, USA.

A senior member of the Muscat Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka (MGOME), Dr Geevarghese Yohannan is the Malankara Sabha Managing Committee Member of Ahmedabad Diocese, under Metropolitan HG Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios.

Dr Geevarghese is the founder-cum-chairman of nine organisations in Kerala, including MGM Group of Schools, MGM Arts and Science College, Malankara Group of Concerns, Divine Group of Concerns, Nadan Fuels and Yohaan Film Productions.

The Geevarghese Yohannan Charitable Trust was established in 1993, and runs several institutions in Kerala, namely Mar Gregorios Memorial (MGM) Residential Public School (Kottarakara), MGM Central Public School (Trivandrum), MGM Public School (Ernakulam), MGM Group of Schools and College (Kilimanoor, Kaniyapuram, Paripally, Mangalapuram, Kadampanad, and Venjaranoodu); Malankara Group of Concerns; and Divine Group of Hotels and  Restaurants.
Dr Geevarghese hails from ‘Kuzhivila Puthen Veedu’, Nellikunnam, Kottarakara. His family consists of Jainamma Yohannan (spouse), and children, namely Alfa Mary, Oleena Mary, Meeval Mary and Jabson Varghese (son). 
St George Orthodox Church, Nellikunnam, is his home parish under the Diocese of Punalur-Kottarakkara. ~ LC
