NATIONAL MENTAL RETARDATION DAY OBSERVED AT STOTS

8th of December is observed as the National Day for the Mentally Retarded all over. This day was a special day for St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary community too. The day was observed and celebrated by the Seminary community with staff and students of Prerana Special School, which is an undertaking of Prerana Multipurpose Society of the St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur.
A rally was organized from Brahmani Junction to the Pratap School Kalmeshwar, giving the message of the empowerment of the children with special needs.
The rally was flagged off by Rev. Fr. Dr. P. C. Thomasl. Students from the Pratap School also joined the rally. Some special cultural program was organized at the premises of the school after the rally. Rev. Fr. Dr. K. M. George the former principal of Old Theological Seminary Kottayam, Rev. Fr. Dr. Bijesh Philip, the Principal of the Seminary and the Secretary of the Prerana Multipurpose School, Mr kamlakar Pal, the principal of the school, Dr. Rajeev Potdar BJP District Unit President, Mr. Devraoji Vaidya, block education officer, Mrs. Lalitha bhagavat and all the faculty of the school were present for the rally and for the cultural programs. Rev. Fr. Yohannan K. the Assistant Director of the Prerana Special School coordinated the program.
