‘Meltho 2021’, Bangalore Diocese Convention from Feb 18-20

BENGALURU: HG Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim, Bengaluru Diocese Metropolitan, Indian Orthodox Syrian Church, has launched the Meltho calendar for 2021 at St Thomas Orthodox Mahaedavaka, Bangalore East, during the diocese assembly.
The occasion also saw the 51st birthday celebrations of the Metropolitan on December 28 in which the vicars of the Diocese also took part.
‘Meltho 2021’, the Bangalore Diocese Orthodox Convention, is scheduled for three days from February 18, 19, 20, soon after the Great Lent begins from February 15, 2021.
The convention is being organised by Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Church, Bangalore Region.
The ‘Meltho 2021’ calendar is themed on the martyrdom of the Holy Apostle and a sojourn to their tombs.
Most of the Apostles take the centre stage each month and are dedicated to them each month. 
The month of January chronicles Apostle Peter, February is on Andrew, March is for James, April is John, May for Philip, June is Bartholomew, July is Thomas, August is Mathew, September for James the Lesser, October for Jude, November is Simon and lastly December on St Mathias.
Fr Varghese P Idichandy, Vicar/President, St George Orthodox Church & Pilgrim Centre, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, has led the concept and thematic design of the 2021 calendar.
The calendar also lists the Diocese churches in Karnataka (14 in Bangalore), Telangana, (6 in Andhra Pradesh), and 2 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Fujairah and Ras al Khaimah, a pilgrim centre.
