STOTS’ CONVOCATION 2019

The Convocation Ceremony of St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary(STOTS), Nagpur, was held on 27th August 2019 at Mar Theodosius Hall, STOTS at 2:30pm. H.H Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II,  Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan and the Chancellor of the Seminary conferred the degrees and diplomas on the successful candidates. The convocation speaker was Rev. Dr. Daniel Ratnakar Sadananda, General Secretary of CSI and Vice president of NCCI. Guests of honour were H.G. Geevarghese Mar Coorilos – vice president of the seminary, H.G. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, H.G.Dr.Yuhanon Mar Diascoros, H.G Dr. Youhanon Mar Demetrios, H.G Yakob Mar Elias, H.G. Dr.Geevarghese Mar Yulios and H.G. Dr. Abraham Mar Seraphim. Special guests Rev. Asir Ebenezer (General Secretary, NCCI) and team, Rev. Fr. Peter Mendonza, the rector of St. Charles Seminary, Director and Principal of Mission India Theological Seminary, Nagpur and team,  Vicar and Parishioners of St.George Orthodox Cathedral, Nagpur and St. Mary’s Orthodox Syrian church Bhandara, Rev.

Fr. Jilson Varghese from Carmel Academy – Saoner, Principal and team from Prerana family, were present.
Fifty seven seminarians who completed successfully  their seminary studies were conferred Graduate in Sacred Theology  and thirty eight lay persons who completed their Sathyajyothi Online Theological Theological Programme were conferred Diploma  in Orthodox Christian Studies. Diploma holders included lay persons from India as well as countries like Singapore, UAE, Malaysia etc. There were a lot of guests  present in the ceremony.  Principal Fr. Dr. Bijesh Philip,  Principal Designate Fr. Dr. Jossi Jacob, Registrar Mrs. Mercy John, Bursar  Fr. Joshy P Jacob ,  Fr. B.M. Thomas Executive Secrertary – Satyajyothi Online Theological Study and all other faculty members and deacons gave leadership to the planning and proper implementation of the programme.
