Dukrono of St Thomas at Philadelphia Church

Dukrono of St Thomas the Apostle will be celebrated at Philadelphia St Thomas Indian Orthodox Church on 6th and 7th of July.

Flag was hoisted on Sunday, 30th June
after Holy Mass by Vicar Rev Fr M K Kuriakose and Asst Vicar Rev Fr Sujith Thomas in presence of visiting priest from Niranom Diocese Rev Fr C C Kuriakose.

H G Dr Zacharias Mar Aprem, Metropolitan of Adoor-Kadambanadu Diocese and Asst Metropolitan of South West American Diocese will be the Chief Celebrant.

On Saturday, July 6 at 5.00 p m His Grace will ceremoniously be welcomed to St Thomas Indian Orthodox Church which has the largest number of members in North East American Diocese by Vicar, Asst. Vicar, Parish Treasurer, parish Secretary, Board of Trustees, Managing Committee and members of the church. After the evening
Prayer and speech led by H G the Metropolitan, Rasa which goes around the church through public roads and a great attraction to local people will be conducted. The evening’s programs will end with a sumptuous dinner.

On Sunday, the feast day morning prayer will start at 8. 30 a.m. and Holy Qurbana led by H G Dr Zacharias Mar Aprem Metropolitan and assisted by the Vicar and Asst Vicar will be at 9.00 a. m. Priests from all the 8 Malankara Orthodox churches in Philadelphia are expected to attend. Message will be given by H G the Metropolitan.
Rasa with parishioners in uniform dresses, US and Catholicate flags, colorful muthukudas and chendamelam will be after the Holy Mass. As in past years Philadelphia police will make arrangements to block the roads and divert traffic for the smooth progress of Rasa. This year’s feast will be concluded with the traditional Nerchavilambu.
