MUSCAT: His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East & Malankara Metropolitan, is on an Apostolic visit to the Sultanate during which the Prelate will be the chief celebrant during the tri-mass at St Thomas Church, Ruwi, on December 7, Friday, 7 am.
The His Holiness will lead the holy consecration ceremony of the new building of St Mary’s Orthodox Church (SMOC), Ghala, constructed at Ghala Church Complex, Muscat, on December 7, 8, 2018.
Metropolitans HG Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Ahmedabad Diocese, HG Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, Bombay Diocese, and HG Dr Yuhanon Mar Chrysostomos, Niranam Diocese, will also bless the ceremony with their presence.
This will be followed by a public meeting at 9 am during which Catholicate Day Fund and the MOSC Widow Pension Fund will be handed over to His Holiness who will also launch the new Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka (MGOME) mobile application. Later His Holiness will address various spiritual organisations of MGOME and hold a photo session.
On December 6, a traditional reception will welcome the Catholicos, Diocese Metropolitan and the visiting Metropolitans, followed by evening prayers and devotional address, according to a note from MGOME Vicar/President Fr Mathai Palath and Assoc Vicar Fr Bejoy Varghese.
