MUSCAT: His Grace Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, Metropolitan, Ahmedabad Diocese, has approved the newly elected office bearers and managing committee members of Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha-Edavaka, Muscat, for fiscal 2018-19.
The young team was duly elected during the general body meeting of the parish held under Vicar/President Fr Jacob Mathew on March 2, 2018.
The 18-member office bearers and managing committee members take charge on April 1 2018 untill March 31, 2019, unless any other orders are issued from the Diocese Metropolitan on the matter.
The Kalpana No 08/18, dated March 12, 2018 was issued from St Mary’s Orthodox Church, Ghala, during the visit of the Metropolitan to the Sultanate of Oman.
The members are:
Joseph Varghese (Hon Trustee), Jabson Varghese (Hon Co-Trustee) and Binu Joseph Kunchattil (Hon Secretary).

Mar Yulios has placed on record his appreciation for the sincere and dedicated work carried out by the outgoing office bearers and managing committee members during their tenure and placed them before God Almighty in humble prayers.
His Grace also wishes and prays that the newly elected office bearers and managing committee members may work as a team and strengthen the parish in totality.
The Metropolitan wishes all a blessed season of Great and Salvific Lent and follow the canonical protocol and other observations of the Lenten season.
