എത്യോപ്യന്‍ ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്സ് സഭയുടെ സ്ലീബാ പെരുന്നാള്‍: പ. കാതോലിക്കാ ബാവാ വിശിഷ്ടാതിദി

മലങ്കര ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്സ് സഭയുമായി ഉറ്റബന്ധം പുലര്‍ത്തുന്ന എത്യോപ്യയിലെ പൗരാണിക ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്സ് സഭയുടെ ഒരു പ്രധാന പെരുന്നാളായ സ്ലീബാ പെരുന്നാളിന് വിശിഷ്ടാതിഥിയായി പരിശുദ്ധ ബസേലിയോസ് മാര്‍ത്തോമ്മാ പൗലോസ് ദ്വിതീയന്‍ കാതോലിക്കാ ബാവാ സംബന്ധിക്കും. എത്യോപ്യന്‍ പാത്രിയര്‍ക്കീസ് പരിശുദ്ധ ആബൂനാ മത്ഥിയാസിന്‍റെ ക്ഷണം അനുസരിച്ച് സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ 25 മുതല്‍ 29 വരെ പരിശുദ്ധ കാതോലിക്കാ ബാവാ എത്യോപ്യ സന്ദര്‍ശിക്കും. സ്ലീബാ പെരുന്നാളില്‍ സംബന്ധിക്കുന്നതിനോടൊപ്പം അവിടെ എത്തുന്ന പൗരസ്ത്യ ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്സ് സഭാ തലവന്മാരുമായി കൂടി കാണുകയും ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും. 3.4 കോടി അംഗങ്ങളും 60 മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്താമാരും 44 ഭദ്രാസനങ്ങളും 32537 വൈദീകരുമുളള എത്യോപ്യന്‍ ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്സ് സഭയുമായി മലങ്കര സഭ പൗരാണിക കാലം മുതല്‍ സൗഹൃദബന്ധവും കൗദാശിക സംസര്‍ഗവും പുലര്‍ത്തിയിരുന്നു. 2016 നവംബറില്‍ എത്യോപ്യന്‍ പാത്രിയര്‍ക്കീസ് മലങ്കര ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്സ് സഭയുടെ ക്ഷണമനുസരിച്ച് സംസ്ഥാന അതിഥിയായി കേരളം സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

വൈദിക സെമിനാരി പ്രിന്‍സിപ്പലായിരുന്ന ഡോ. പൗലോസ് മാര്‍ ഗ്രീഗോറിയോസ് എത്യോപ്യന്‍ ചക്രവര്‍ത്തി ഹെയ് ലി സെലാസിയുടെ പേഴ്സണല്‍ അസിസ്റ്റന്‍റും ഉപദേശകനും (1956-’59) ആയിരുന്നു. എത്യോപ്യന്‍ പാത്രിയര്‍ക്കേറ്റ് സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതില്‍ ഹെയ് ലി സെലാസി ചക്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കൊപ്പം നിര്‍ണ്ണായക പങ്കു വഹിച്ചു. ആഡിസ് അബാബയില്‍ നടന്ന ഓറിയന്‍റല്‍ ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്സ് സഭാതലവന്മാരുടെ സമ്മേളനം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചതിന്‍റെ സൂത്രധാരകനും മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്താ ആയിരുന്നു.

ഫാ. ഡോ. വി. സി. ശമുവേല്‍. 1968-1976 കാലഘട്ടത്തില്‍ എത്യോപ്യന്‍ ഓര്‍ത്തഡോക്സ് സെമിനാരിയില്‍ (Theological College of the Holy Trinity, Haile Selassie I University, Addis Ababa) അദ്ധ്യാപകനായിരുന്നു. യൂഹാനോന്‍ മാര്‍ ദീയസ്ക്കോറോസ്, ഫാ. കെ. എം. സൈമണ്‍, ഫാ. റജി മാത്യു  എന്നിവരും അദ്ധ്യാപകരായി സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഫാ. ഡോ. ജോസി ജേക്കബ് എന്നിവര്‍ അദ്ധ്യാപകനായി സേവനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

His Holiness Abune Mathias the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church has invited His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos and Malankara Metropolitan of our Church to be the Chief Guest for the Celebrations of the Holy Meskel 2017, which is the Feast of the Holy Cross, a national Festival of Ethiopia. In the personal invitation of His Holiness the Patriarch (Ref. P/S/165/421/2017 dated 17/01/2017), he has mentioned that the holiday is of national and international importance since it is recognized and registered by UNESCO as “Intangible World Heritage”. His Grace Metropolitans Mar Thimothios, Mar Nicodimos, Fr. Aswin Fernadis and Mr. Jacob Mathew comprise the official delegation. Fr. Dr. Jossi Jacob, representative of His Holiness the Catholicos in Addis Ababa is coordinating the events liaising with the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. The visit is from 25-29 September 2017.

A group of pilgrims led by His Grace Geevarghese Mar Coorilos Metropolitan after visiting Jordan, Israel and Egypt will be joining in Addis Ababa for the celebrations of the Holy Meskel.
