A BRIEF REPORT OF THEANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING, 2015-16 OF OSSAE OKR

The annual General Body meeting of the Orthodox Sunday School Association of the East-Outside Kerala Region for the year 2015-16 was held on 17 and 18^th September 2016 at St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur. The theme for the meeting was “You are the Household of God” (Ephesians 2:19). H.G. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, President of OSSAE-OKR and the Metropolitan of the Diocese of Calcutta presided over the meeting. The meeting was inaugurated by H.G. Yuhannon Mar Meletius, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Trissur with the lighting of the lamp in the presence of H.G. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius.

Fr. Dr. Bijesh Philip, the Director of OSSAE-OKR welcomed the Metropolitans, Priests, Diocesan Directors, Zonal Inspectors, Headmasters, teachers and students. Mar Dionysius in his presidential address emphasized the strengthening of Sunday Schools. H.G. Yuhanon Mar Meletius delivered the theme presentation. He said, “We must teach about God to the younger generation by understanding the realities in society”.

The Sathyajyothi Online Theological Study programme was presented at the Annual General Body meet.

The Valedictory function began with the presidential address by H.G. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius. H.G. Mar Meletius was also present for the function. Awards and certificates were given to the rank holders of 10^th and 12^th class of OSSAE OKR. Mar Theodosius Memorial Gold Medal was also awarded, sponsored by the St. Gregorios Indian Orthodox Maha Edavaka, Kuwait. The awards for the title-holders were also given during the function.
