Nagpur seminary enriches spiritual journey for Ahmedabad Diocese MMVS members at Diocese conference

NAGPUR: For the first time, the 7th annual conference of Marth Mariam Vanitha Samajam of Ahmedabad Diocese was convened at the St Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, (STOTS), Nagpur, outside of the Diocese.
The conference was held under the guidance of Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, where the Ahmedabad Diocese Metropolitan is part of the STOTS faculty.
The three-day conference was based on the theme “Orthodox Spiritual Heritage – Pazamayude Puthuma” and coincided with the Orthodox heritage of outside Kerala region. Resource persons who included veterans from STOTS namely Fr P C Thomas, Fr Dr Joji C George and Fr John Mathew, delivered talks at the conference. Bible study, devotional talk, spiritual classes were synchronized during the programme with music class and prayers of the seminary.
As part of the conference a tribute to Orthodox heritage was held by way of the elocution competition on ‘Sabha Jyothis – Joseph LL Pulikottil Joseph Mar Dionysius I.
The participants also paid a visit to Prerana, a school for special children under the guidance of the seminarians. The Metropolitan also felicitated faculty members of STOTS by presenting a kit.
Other highlights included quiz competition, talent night, group discussion, Question-Answer session, and games as part of the conference.
Delegates from Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat also attended the conference and expressed their happiness towards their enrichment.
Beena Kuriakose, Secretary, MMVS, Ahmedabad Diocese, said the conference was cherished by all the participants which provided for an enriching experience.
