ICON EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2015 – Award Distribution at Devalokam Dec 31st 2015

On December 31st, the 2015 ICON Excellence Awards distribution program was held at Catholicate Aramana in Devalokam, Kerala. This year we are supporting a total of 513 deserving students around Kerala and the total award amount is about Rs. 53 lacs INR. The awards at Devalokam were presented to the selected students under MOSC – Ministry of Human Empowerment (MOHE) of the Malankara Orthodox Church for the Central and Southern Zones. Many thanks to everyone who contributed, to all who wished us well and prayed for this.
Here is a quick update on the program:
It was a blessed event. The students who received the award had a picture taken with the His Holiness the Catholicose (Bava Thirumeni, the premier bishop of the Malankara Orthodox Church). It was a blessing to be with Bava Thirumeni and receive benediction from HH while welcoming the New Year.
In addition to the Award distribution, Samagra Saukhya (Holistic Healing) project was inaugurated in which medical doctors over 80 years who gave invaluable contributions to medical science and community service were honored at the function.

Many Thanks to Rev. Fr. P.A. Philip for coordinating the efforts needed to organize the program. Also Rev. Fr. K.T. Jacob(Sunny achen) deserves appreciation along with George Mathew (Liju, Doha) and many others, for the herculean efforts behind the project, especially in the application process. Jose Kurian uncle and Liju among others also represented the global ICON family at the function.
Bava Thirumeni was highly impressed with ICON’s work in the society. Bijesh Philip achen, Principal of Nagpur Seminary, was generous in his words on the support provided among others, to Prerana Special school for the mentally challenged in Nagpur,India by ICON. Respected KM George Achen also spoke highly about ICON’s efforts. The words by these blessed fathers were inspiring and one and all in the larger global family of ICON can feel proud about how God has guided us thus far.
