Mar Yulios declares open OVBS at Mar Gregorios Orthodox Mahaedavaka Muscat

MUSCAT: Ahmedabad Diocese Metropolitan HG Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios has officially opened the annual Orthodox Vacation Bible School (OVBS) 2015-2016 at Mar Gregorios Mahaedavaka Muscat. The OBVS will have its theme from Colossians 3:1 on “Seek the things that are above.” Fr Gigin Baby will lead the Bible classes for the students.

Dr Mar Yulios called upon the parents to make it a point to send their children to OVBS in order to know the word of God better which will nourish them towards a better life in the future. The Metropolitan lighted the traditional lamp along with Mahaedavaka Vicar/President Fr Jacob Mathew, Assoc Vicar Fr Kuriakose Varghese to officially launch the OVBS.
Earlier, Sunday School children clad in yellow OVBS T-shirts and flags marched and handed over the OVBS banner to the Metropolitan who in turn handed it  to Binu Amini and John Thomas, the new convenors for 2015-16. MGOME Executive Members John Thomas (Trustee), Varghese David (Co-Trustee), John P Luke (Secretary) were also present. 
The two-week OVBS classes will begin from December 20 and conclude on January 1, 2016. There will not be OVBS classes on December 24, 25 and 31, 2015. The picnic has been arranged on January 2, 2016. Dr Mar Yulios will be the chief celebrant for the for Christmas (Yeldo) Service at Mar Gregorios Maha Edavaka Muscat, on Dec 24, Friday.
