Church of South India Mourns the Demise of Bishop M. C. Mani

With Sadness, we inform you that Bishop Rt. Rev. M. C. Mani, (3.7.1928 – 20.10.2015), the 9th Bishop of Madhya Kerala Diocese entered eternal rest today, 20th October 2015. A man of prayer and simplicity, Bishop Mani shepherded his flock faithfully from 1981 to 1993. His 12 years of Episcopal ministry saw the creation of Bishops’ Discretionary Fund to help the poor and the needy of the diocese, and a special emphasis to education especially in starting a School for the partially hearing and a Theological Institute at Kottayam. In his Episcopal period, the diocese constructed a Retreat Centre in 1991 where Seminars, Workshops for the Clergy, Evangelists and Laity are conducted. The CSI Synod gratefully remembers the ministry of Bishop Mani and gives thanks to God for the life, ministry and witness of Bishop Mani. The Moderator of Church of South India, Most Rev. Dr. G. Dyvasirvadam, the Officers of the Synod send heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family which include, Rev. Dr. Mani Chacko, the General Secretary of Bible Society of India, Mr. M.M. Philip, former General Secretary of CSI.
