Fr Jacob Mathew takes charge as new vicar of Muscat Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka.
MUSCAT: Fr Jacob Mathew, the new Vicar of Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka (MGOME) Muscat, has taken charge as the Vicar/President of the parish.
Fr Jacob, is the present Ahmedabad Diocese Secretary. He takes charge of Muscat parish from his earlier tenure as Vicar of Mar Gregorios Orthodox Valiyapalli, Baroda. Four Orthodox churches in the Sultanate (Ghala, Sohar, Salalah) come under Ahmedabad Diocese headed by Metropolitan HG Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios.
On Wednesday, Fr Jacob was received upon arrival at Muscat International Airport by MGOME Associate Vicar Fr Kuriakose Varghese, MGOME Executive Members John Thomas (Trustee), Varghese David (Co-Trustee), John P Luke (Secretary), Sabha Managing Committee member P K Koshy, Mrs Gracy Varghese and area committee members.
