MGOC CATHOLICATE DAY CATHOLICATE DAY AT MAHA EDAVAKA

MUSCAT: HH Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East and Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Metropolitan, has called upon the faithful of Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka to instill in them the true spirit of Orthodox.
Addressing the congregation after the Holy Eucharist during the Catholicate Day Celebrations, the Catholicos said the faithful should be proud of being an Orthodox member and instil the spirit among themselves. “Just like the spirit of Indian independence gained through the hard earned efforts of Mahatma Gandhi on August 15, we must also remember the great sacrifices made by late lamented fathers. We must cultivate this spirit and make it known for the next generation. Let us respect and stand towards it for ever,” His Holiness added.
The Catholicate pledge was read out by Vicar Fr Joji George and the Catholica Mangala Gaanem ‘Marthoma Simhasanathil’ sung by junior choir.
Also present at the conference was Associate Vicar Fr Kuriakose Varghese, Sabha Secretary P K Koshy, Diocesan Council member Mammen George, executive members Jacob Kuriakose (Trustee), Mathew K Abraham (Co-Trustee) and John P Luke (Secretary).
