Mar Seraphim releases Meltho calendar 2019 on liturgical accessories, religious symbols

BENGALURU: HG Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim, Bengaluru Diocese Metropolitan, Indian (Malankara) Orthodox Church, has released the Meltho calendar for 2019 on November 15, 2018 (Thursday), at St Thomas Orthodox Maha Edavaka, Bangalore East.
Fr Varghese P Idichandy, Vicar/President, St Gregorios Orthodox Church, Mathikere, has led with the concept and thematic design of both, the wall and table top versions for the new 2019 calendar.
Fr Santhosh Samuel, Fr K M Jacob, and Fr Jacob Thomas were among those present during the calendar launch event.
The wall calendar highlights a brief study on the liturgical accessories and religious symbols used during the celebration of the Holy liturgy. The calendar has details about Bible reading verses and the Sabha Panchangam. The main picture for each month highlights Thronose, Thablitho, Cross, Candles, Evengelion Table, Censer, Chalice, Mkabilono, Shoshepo, Marvahso, Handbells and Msaknsabino.
The table top calendar have a brief study about ‘The Twelve’ minor prophets of the Holy Bible with mention of Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.
Ms Asha Biju, spouse of Biju T Sam, architect, has complied the literary works and theme of the calendar. Siju from National Printing Press, Koramangala, has perfected the design work.
