BENGALURU: The 12th edition of the Bangalore Orthodox Convention, called ‘Meltho 2017’ is scheduled to begin from February 10 to 12, 2017.
Bengaluru Diocese Metropolitan HG Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim and Very Rev Mathai Edayanal, Cor-Episcopa will be the main speakers at the three-day convention.
Indian Campus Crusade Auditorium at St Thomas Town will be the venue for the convention being organised by the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Bangalore Region.
The programme schedule release states the convention will have devotional songs, seminar for young couples and orientation for board exam students. Bangalore Orthodox Gospel Team will be part of the devotional songs and intercessary prayers.
Noted orator Very Rev Mathai Edayanal Cor Episcopa from Diocese of Angamaly, will lead the convention along with the Metropolitan.
On February 12, Sunday, the concluding day, Metropolitan Mar Seraphim will lead the holy liturgy and will also deliver the concluding address.
Fr K M Jacob, is the Convenor of the Bangalore Orthodox Convention, while Fr Varghese Philip Idichandy, Vicar, St Gregorios Orthodox Church, Mathikere, Bangalore, is the architect towards organising the convention each year.
As a prelude to the convention, Mar Seraphim released ‘Meltho calendar for 2017’ on December 3, 2016 during the occasion of ‘Zamar 2016,’ a Christmas symphony.Fr Varghese P Idichandy, Vicar, led with the concept and thematic design of the calendar. The wall calendar highlights the great liturgical feasts of Malankara (Indian) Orthodox church while the table top version highlights the order of the angels. Both wall and table top versions are available. Meltho 2017 also lists on the columns the listings from the Bible readings and Sabha Panjangam.
