New building of Prerana School inaugurated

The charitable institution, Prerana Multipurpose Project under the aegis of St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur was blessed with a new academic building which was consecrated on 29th September 2015 under the auspices of H.G. Dr.Yuhanon Mar Meletius and H.G. Dr. Yakoob Mar Irenios. The Prerana project is a visionary project of the Seminary to mission among the specially abled children and to provide them care and love which they are often divested. On this occasion both the Bishops consecrated and blessed the new building and also inaugurated it for the academic purposes of the project and wished all the best for the future of this missionary. All the students and the faculty members of STOTS as well as PRERANA Special School were present in the function.

 

SATSANGH BY H. G. Dr. YAKOB MAR IRENIOS IN NAGPUR SEMINARY

H. G. Dr. Yakob Mar Irenios the Metropolitan of the Diocese of Kochi and the visiting faculty of Nagpur Seminary, presented a brief summary of his doctoral thesis “The Experience of the Unspeakable” in the Satsangh at St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur on 30th September, 2015. He highlighted the mystical experience of holy persons like St. Gregorios of Parumala, H.H. Baselios Geevarghese II and Sr. Susan Kuruvilla. He exhorted to shift the focus from miracles done through the mystics to the genuine mystical experience behind these miracles. Authentic mysticism leads to self-control, holiness and universal love. Fr. Dr. Bijesh Philip gave a brief appreciation of Mar Irenios doctoral thesis and emphasized the need of publishing it and popularising it.
