As of every year, the feast of St.Thomas the apostle was celebrated with great enthusiasm and vigor at St.Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur on 20th and 21st Dec 2017. H.G. Dr. Mathews Mar Thimotheos, metropolitan of U.K., Europe and Africa was the chief celebrant. His Grace in his Perunal message urged the faithful to abide in the original mission and vision of St.Thomas, who sowed the seeds of Gospel in the East especially India.
In the public meeting, which was attended by faithful from far and near and also hundreds of local villagers from surrounding villages, Mr. Saji Abraham, a devout member of Itarsi Balagram, delivered the devotional talk in Hindi.
On the occasion of this year’s perunal, a colorful book catering to the spiritual needs of the young diaspora was released by the name ‘Know my Church’ which was prepared by Rev.Fr.Jobin Varghese and Dn.Jaison John. The perunal celebrations concluded with the Love feast.
Christmas Eve in STOTS
The Christmas eve of 2017 was commenced on December 21st evening. Various cultural programs marked the occasion. The chief Guest of the occasion was H.G. Dr. Mathews Mar Thimotheos, metropolitan of U.K., Europe and Africa. His Grace in his Christmas Message underlined on the fact that ‘The Birth of Jesus Christ in this world is the greatest miracle that happened in the human history.’ There were skits and songs by Seminary brothers. Students of Prerana Special School also showcased their talents. Ms. Grace Daughter of Rev. Fr .John Mathew performed a solo Dance.
Mood of the season was thrilled by the arrival of Santa. The program ended with love feast and exchange of Christmas Gifts.
