MUSCAT: HG Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, Metropolitan of Bombay Diocese, will be the chief celebrant for the feast of St Gregorios of Parumala and 114th Dukrono of the patron saint at the Muscat Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka (MGOME), on November 4, Friday. The Metropolitan will lead the Holy Eucharist (Penta Mass) for the Maha Edavaka’s parish day celebrations at St Thomas Church on Friday from 6.15 am.
After the holy liturgy, toppers from Standard X and XII will be felicitated by the Metropolitan. This will be followed by auction of first fruit offerings, fete and sale and a variety of entertainment programmes from the spiritual organisations from 10 am to 4 pm.
Fr Mathew Abraham (Saji) from Chengannur Diocese, is the chief speaker for the week-long convention hosted by the Maha Edavaka from October 28-Nov 4, on the theme “Seven Natures of God.”
On Nov 3, the penultimate day of the convention, a holy harvest rasa with tableau of St Gregorios of Parumala will be held from the Maha Edavaka to St Thomas Church from 7.15 pm.
On Nov 5, Saturday, the 9th Dukrono of LL HG Dr Stephanos Mar Theodosios (1924-2007), Metropolitan of Calcutta Diocese, will be marked with a Holy Eucharist from 9 am.
Maha Edavaka Vicar/President Fr Jacob Mathew, Associate Vicar, Fr Kuriakose Varghese, have requested the faithful to attend the convention, rasa and parish day celebrations in large numbers and make it a success.
Biju George (Trustee), Sajan C Varghese (Co-Trustee) and Benson Skaria (Secretary), form the executive along with the 2016-2017 managing committee. Muscat Maha Edavaka falls under Ahmedabad Diocese headed by Metropolitan HG Pulikkottil Dr Geearghese Mar Yulios.
