South India is known for its varied styles of cooking which was showcased at the South Indian Food Festival in St.Mary’s School on Sunday 1st November 2015.A typical South Indian ambience has been created in the school campus where various kinds of mouthwatering range of delicacies were served to one and all.
The Hon’ble Chairman of the school Rev.Fr. John K Jacob welcomed the gathering with his inaugural address and inaugurated the food carnival by cutting the ribbon at the traditional Kerala ,“Thattukada”.While addressing the gathering, he added that all the proceeds from this South Indian food carnival organized by the Society will be used for various charity projects .
Many students performed wonderful cultural programme items such as Kathak ,Bhangara , Classical dances ,Solo songs etc and it was applauded by each and everyone present in the school campus. The tireless efforts of the church members have created a superb festival weekend for all. This food carnival offered a great opportunity for people from different walks of life to enjoy the traditional delicacies that are cooked using the traditional recipes. The programme was a grant success.
