DALLAS, Texas: Ahmedabad Diocese Metropolitan His Grace Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios met with Ms Seraphima Iliay Ioanna Shagoury, (OCP delegate and Executive Coordinator of its Foundation in North America). The Metropolitan and the OCP delegate (a faithful of St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, Euless, Texas), held talks on a number of issues.
This weekend, Dr Mar Yulios and Seraphima have planned a mutual visit to the St Gregorios Indian Orthodox Church, Houston, to celebrate the liturgy and spread the news about OCP. The Metropolitan will also pay a visit to the ailing Seraphima’s mother. She has also been entrusted with the responsibility of transporting the vestments for Mar Yulios while he is on his flight, which Seraphima considers to be a “truly unexpected and deeply responsible honour.”
Dr Mar Yulios is presently on a visit to the United States until the first week of July 2016.
Ms Shagoury currently resides in Irving, Texas, and her current studies and projects include Coptic Language, Coptic Chant, and the promotion of united Orthodox Witness between the Eastern Orthodox Churches and Coptic Orthodox Church in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. She has charted and executed ecclesiastical patterns for fillet crochet during the past 25 years, and maintains an interest in both early 20th Century styles of popular music and needlework.
