MUSCAT: HH Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan, will present the second Thanal Charity Award 2015-2016 instituted in the name of LL His Grace Dr Stephanos Mar Theodosius (1924-2007) to Dr V P Gangadharan, former head of the department, Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum.

The award will be presented during the Thanal Project valedictory on March 4, Friday, at St Thomas Church, Ruwi. Indian Ambassador to the Sultanate HE Indira Mani Pandey will be the chief guest. 
The Catholicos will inaugurate the function while Ahmedabad Diocese Metropolitan HG Pullikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios will preside.
Very Rev Joseph Samuel Karukayil, Cor Episcopa, will deliver the St Vattasseril Dionysius commemoration speech after which aid for cancer patients will be distributed and a documentary screened on the occasion.
Muscat Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka launched the Thanal charity project for 2015-16 in aid of kidney patients called ‘Care and Compassion’ to help the needy cancer patients.
Fr Jacob Mathew, Vicar, and Fr Kuriakose Varghese, Associate Vicar, members of the executive committee have urged the faithful to attend the function in large numbers to make the function a success.
