{"id":51420,"date":"2017-02-18T02:11:41","date_gmt":"2017-02-18T02:11:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/malankaraorthodox.tv\/?p=51420"},"modified":"2017-02-18T06:14:03","modified_gmt":"2017-02-18T06:14:03","slug":"fr-james-geevarghese-is-elected-new-ahmedabad-diocese-secretary-under-mar-yulios","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/malankaraorthodox.tv\/?p=51420","title":{"rendered":"Fr James Geevarghese is elected new Ahmedabad Diocese Secretary under Mar Yulios"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><a href=\"http:\/\/malankaraorthodox.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/FR-JAMES-GEEVARGHESE-AHMEDABAD-DIOCESE-SECRETARY.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-51422\" src=\"http:\/\/malankaraorthodox.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/FR-JAMES-GEEVARGHESE-AHMEDABAD-DIOCESE-SECRETARY-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"FR JAMES GEEVARGHESE, AHMEDABAD DIOCESE SECRETARY\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/malankaraorthodox.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/FR-JAMES-GEEVARGHESE-AHMEDABAD-DIOCESE-SECRETARY-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/malankaraorthodox.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/FR-JAMES-GEEVARGHESE-AHMEDABAD-DIOCESE-SECRETARY.jpg 525w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">AHMEDABAD: The Diocesan General Assembly of the Diocese of Ahmedabad was held under the presidentship of Ahmedabad Diocese Metropolitan, HG Pulikkottil Dr Geevarghese Mar Yulios, on February 10, 2017 at St Thomas Chapel, Naroda, as per Kalpana No 56\/16 dated on December 30, 2016.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Fr James Geevarghese, was elected to the Diocesan Council as the new Diocesan Secretary for the next five years with effect from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2022 unless any other order is issued in future on the matter.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b><span style=\"color: #4c1130;\">The other members elected as priest representatives to assist Fr James are Fr Saju Padachira from Rajkot and Fr Varghese Thomas from Pithampur.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b><span style=\"color: #4c1130;\">The lay representatives elected are: Saji Abraham from Gandhinagar, Sabu Cherian from Udaipur, C V Jacob from Indore and Boban Mathew Thomas from Muscat Mar Gregorios Orthodox Maha Edavaka.<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Mar Yulios has in a Kalpana No 03\/17 recorded his appreciation for the sincere service rendered by <b>Fr Jacob Mathew, <\/b>outgoing Diocesan Secretary, and other Diocesan Council Members who served the Diocese for the last five years from 2012 to 2017.
