Erathodu Veeyapuram St.George Ortodox Church is all set to get into its BICENTENNIAL celebrations. With two hundred years of ardent inclusive \u00a0spiritual nourishments for all, the Church stands in its splendid glory of God\u2019s Grace. Established in 1816 by the then Malankara Metropolitan Punnathra Mar Dionysius the church occupies a place of importance among the Malankara Orthodox Churches. The Church is on the side of the Link Highway between Veeyapuram and Kadapra on the Thiruvalla \u2013 Kayamkulam State High way.<\/span><\/div>\n
As a final run up to the great \u00a0launching day on Sunday 20th<\/sup> Sept.2015 a Bicentenary proclamation rally was conducted on Saturday 19 Sept 2015 from Cheppad\u00a0 St.George Orthodox Church and reached the celebrity Church after receiving solemn receptions from St.George Orthodox Church, Karichal, St.John\u2019s Orthodox Church Aanary, St.Mary\u2019s Orthodox Church Veeyapuram,St.Kuriakose Orthodox Church Melpadom, St.Thomas Orthodox Church Pavukkara, Parumala Seminary Church, Niranam Valiyapally, Kadapra-Mannar St.Thomas Catholicate and Kadapra Bethlehem St.George Orthodox Church.<\/span><\/div>\n
The Rally was a token of the solidarity among the parish members under the able leadership of Fr.C.V Oommen , the Vicar and the Priests from the Church Fr. K.V.Koshy Kalarikkatt, Fr.Thomas Purackal, Fr. Varughese Thomas Ezharaparayil and Fr. John K. Varughese Koodarathil.<\/span><\/div>\n
In order to give a system and order in a fool proof manner to the entire celebration schedules H.G. Dr.Yuhanon Mar Chrisostomos will help us as the Patron, Fr.Alexander Abraham as co-Patron, Fr. C.V.Oommen Chalanadiyil, the Vicar as Chairman\u00a0 and Fr. K.V.Koshy Kalarikkad, Fr.Thomas Purackal, Fr.Varughese Thomas Ezharaparayil, Fr.John K.Varughese Koodarathil as Vice Chairmen.<\/span><\/div>\n
Sri. P.Jacob Thomas Purackal serves as the General Convenor, Sri. Suroj Kizhakeparampil is the Trustee and Finance Convenor and Sri. Mathew John Vazhayil Chempolil as the Secretary<\/span><\/div>\n
Different committees have been constituted under various convenors\u00a0 to make the system going like a well oiled machine. The Convenor for PROGRAMME is Sri K.V. Chacko Ezharaparayil, for PUBLICITY, it is Issan P.Mathew Koodarathil, for DECORATION it is C.C.Varughese Chungathil, for RECEPTION, it is Sri.K.C.Mathews Koodarathil, for PROCESSION, it is K.M.Mathewkutty Kannammalil, for\u00a0 VOLUNTEERS, it is Sri.K.P.Mathai Karukayil and for FOOD, it is Ipe Kurian Thazhakara Villa. Prof. E.John Mathew Koodarathil will be serving as the Chief Editor for the SOUVENIR. \u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
