MUSCAT: HH Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East and Indian Orthodox (Malankara) Metropolitan, led the Palm Sunday Service on March 28, at St Thomas Church, Ruwi.<\/div>\n
The Catholicos based his sermon on Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem\u00a0and into the temple (Mark 11: 1-11).<\/div>\n
Fr Davis Chiramel, a priest from Indian Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, who delivered the Hosanna message, urged the faithful to do good deeds since it was the hand that raised the palm fronds and shouting, \u201cHosanna to the Son of David!\u201d \u201cBlessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!\u201d Fr Joji George Koickalethu led the Holy Eucharist. Large number of faithful attended the service.<\/div>\n
Later, the Catholicos presented the first Thanal Charity Award instituted in the name of LL His Grace Dr Stephanos Mar Theodosius (1924-2007) to Fr Davis Chiramel, Chairman, of the Thrissur-based Kidney Federation of India.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
